You must tell the story of who you are with your whole heart, making the unknown known. We wanted to be fine, so we went into the world with our shields, our apathy, our coolness, our "experiences," how fun or funny or sarcastic we are, our titles, be it mom or CEO. But we are truth tellers, and somewhere inside and we will tell it. We are born to make our unknown known, and we will find somewhere to do it. So in private, with the booze, sex, or the food, or the shopping, cutting, TV, eating disorders even with fitness and "success," we tell the truth. In these ways we say, "actually, I'm not fine." We NUMB, NUMB, NUMB. Because we don't feel safe showing that truth to the real world, or maybe doing the real work in ourselves (not outside ourselves) we create these little controllable, isolated worlds, instead of all together in the big messy one. Some of us tell the truth on our arms, with our clothes, with our bodies, with our cars, with our stuff, with our money, with our righteousness, with our "perfection." Our souls know what's up, you really can't lie to your soul, your soul knows when you aren't living in your truth, aren't living in a way that makes you come alive. You will find other outlets for the loss of yourself. You will silence the voice that says you are hurting, not connecting, living everyday a day that does not honor your life. This is all I know, we must show up everyday for ourselves for our one life and do the next right thing. Even if we are shaking. // beautiful words from @theunstuckproject.
