Hey swl fam! If you've turned on the television at all lately you know that election day is right around the corner. It's easy to get bogged down by all of the negativity on your social media feeds and the extraordinary division that differing political views seem to bring, but we want to bring in some light and positivity. We love this video that one of our contributors, Melissa Fortnash, shared with us recently. It's all about unity + love. These are the things that we really need. Be a light in the lives of others. Mental health is important. One in five Americans is affected by mental illness each year (NAMI 2016), and that kind of statistic cannot be ignored.

This World Mental Health Day, we are joining with the National Alliance of Mental Illness to pledge So Worth Loving as a Stigmafree company. This means that we commit to being informed about mental health, using respectful language about mental health conditions, seeing the person - not the condition, and continuously offering support to all.

There is a power in fashion that we may forget to recognize in our hectic, day-to-day schedules. It can uplift, reminding us how beautiful every body is; it can empower, a type of armor to make us feel stronger; and it can tell a story, of who each of us is. Fashion is a reminder that we are all so worth loving.

And that’s the message behind lifestyle clothing company, So Worth Loving, which opened its first brick-and-mortar store in East Atlanta earlier this month. The brand focuses on celebrating individuality, passion and, most importantly, self-worth through apparel and other goods. Though the powerful meaning of So Worth Loving is worthy of a feature itself, the background of how this brand came to be in 2011 is just as cool.
