I read this quote in Tapestry magazine (must have) and immediately the brakes in my head stopped /all the light bulbs went off / like major A-HA moment happened.
F E A R is our response to physical / emotional danger, it triggers this response to stop or retreat from the situation.
F E A R is our biggest obstacle
F E A R is our greatest barrier
F E A R is something every single human struggles with
F E A R can only be overcome by yourself; no one else can face it for you.
F E A R keeps us from moving forward
F E A R keeps us from truly living
I’ve gone through some extremely dark seasons, and during those seasons fear quickly became a close friend of mine.
I was so scared of putting myself out there in fear of rejection, of not being good enough for someone that I ended up missing out on so many things because I allowed fear to take control of my life.
But there came a point when I (when you) have to make a choice.
You can be content living in fear
Face your fear head on.
Facing your fears is terrifying. Believe me I know, and sometimes you don’t always get the outcome you wanted– for me it was rejection letter after rejection letter for nursing school,
Facing your fears makes you stronger and sometimes life brings along something far greater than what you thought you wanted – I gained new lasting relationships full of love, trust, and fulfillment.
How cool would the world be if we lived Fearlessly?
Always going after your passions without the fear of “financial stability” or “status symbol”
Being unapologetically yourself without the fear of rejection because you are confident in your unwavering value
Eating that second brownie without the fear of gaining .002 pounds because WHO CARES dessert is the most important meal of the day
FACE YOUR FEAR
BE AUTHENTICALLY YOU
YOU’LL NEVER REGRET TAKING A CHANCE,
YOU’LL ONLY REGRET NEVER TAKING IT
It’s beautiful, and the most incredible way to live (I promise)
