Winter can be hard. The cold can make it feel as if our hearts are freezing along with the ground. It can be isolating, like being snowed under. It can be painful, wind whipping at our faces.
But I want to challenge you to escape that. To start a fire inside you, it isn’t hard, the embers are there waiting to be fanned back to life. Give them a gentle stream of air and thaw yourself out.
You are doing fine. You are doing okay.
It may feel like things are breaking apart in the same way that icicles come smashing down. But didn’t you know that there is beauty in the small frozen fractals. There is beauty in brokenness.
Embrace another person today. Smile at them.
Because odds are, you aren’t feeling these things alone. We are all there. We are in winter now, but spring is blooming soon. The thaw, my dear, is coming.
