Today is World Mental Health Day! To recognize it, we want to share some statistics from the NAMI in order to inform our community and to remind those struggling that they aren't alone.
Mental health is often a topic that people shy away from, leaving others feeling guilty and alone for their struggles. The stigmas that are frequently paired with mental health conditions alienate those effected and attach shame to the things that sometimes make them stumble. We want to be a part in changing that. We want to be informed about the realness and prevalence of mental health conditions, speak openly about the ways that our lives are affected, and encourage ourselves and others to know that they are worthy of love exactly how they are. Join us in living a stigmafree lifestyle by sharing the statistics below to help inform others and signing the National Association of Mental Illness's Stigmafree Pledge here.
