“Excuse me, but I think you have something in your eye. Nope, it’s just sparkle.”

Show of hands, who partook in the ever-dazzling and fantastically universal use of sparkles entwined in one’s attire this past New Year’s Eve? *raises hand* Mhmmm. There’s something to be said about wearing something with a just a little (or a lot of!) glitz on the night before the beginning of a brand new year; every light you’d walk by would catch the reflection of your little bit of jazz. You wouldn’t be casting any shadows, but rather dripping reflections of glitter and sparkly light, all the while walking straight into the dawn of a brand new year and away from the shadows of the year passed. I get excited when I think about the possibilities that 2013 holds, and though we are already a few weeks into the new year, I just want to encourage you all to keep that sparkle alive through the coming days and months, and to cast no shadows, but instead catch the light around you and shine. Think of all that this New Year represents- new dreams, new endeavors, second chances…

If 2012 wasn’t kind to you, cheer up and embrace the shot you’ve been given to pick yourself up by the bootstraps, dust off and try again. I heard it said once that whatever your dreams are in this life, this time next year, you’ll be wishing that you had started NOW. So go change the world, and don’t forget to shine baby!
